Drivers in the Altoona area are reminded that the Juniata 8th Street Bridge will be closed starting today.
 
The good news is that the work on the span will be done on a condensed schedule to get the roadway reopened as soon as possible.
 
Officials say the bridge is set to reopen in August just before Altoona School District students return for fall classes.
