Duncansville Man Charged with Possessing Bath Salts

A Duncansville man is one of two people facing drug charges after narcotic agents’ confiscated bath salts and methadone from his Ebensburg motel room.

The bust happened around 9:00AM Monday. Cambria County Drug Taskforce officials say they were tipped-off by a housekeeper, who found a white powdery substance in a room at the Comfort Inn. Police arrested 38-year-old Joseph Frazier and 28-year-old Melissa Mentzer of Summerhill Borough. The pair had switched rooms and agents were able to track them down and uncover the items.

Narcotics officers uncovered more than a kilo of illegal bath salts, methadone, drug paraphernalia and $2,500 in cash. Frazier and Mentzer are facing felony drug charges and could spend a minimum of five years in jail for violating Pennsylvania’s law that bans the production, sale and distribution of bath salts.
