HASD Officials Mum on Assault, Guard Hired for Meeting
Hollidaysburg Area School Board members met last night – but there was no public mention about a scuffle at last week’s graduation ceremony that left the board’s vice-president injured and a substitute teacher facing felony charges.
A security guard was hired to watch over the meeting. District officials say the move was made as a precaution, but wouldn’t elaborate.
Borough police charged 66-year-old Byron Lasser on Tuesday with felony aggravated assault charges after he allegedly laid hands on Darlee Sill. Sill suffered a knee injury in the incident and was not present at the meeting.
Board president Ron Yoder tells WRTA News that the situation has cast a bad light on all the positive news that’s come out of the district in the past few months.
Other than that statement, school officials have remained mostly silent on the incident calling it a personnel matter.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
