No Tax Increase for AASD Residents

The Altoona Area School District has a new budget.

Board members adopted their 2012-13 budget Monday night – and it doesn’t include a tax increase. The $88.4-million spending plan will draw $2.059-million from the district’s unreserved fund balance.

Board president Ryan Beers says there will be no furloughs.

Beers says there are still a lot of unknowns going forward – especially when it comes to state appropriations dollars.

The budget new budget year begins July 1st.
