Local Police Honored for their Aggressive Driving Enforcement Efforts
PennDOT is honoring some Blair County police departments for their ongoing efforts to combat and educate motorists about the dangers of aggressive driving.
The Altoona, Logan Township, Duncansville, Hollidaysburg and Greenfield Township Police Departments were among those recognized. Daniel Noel of Altoona Police and Jeffery Friday of the Hollidaysburg Police Department were also recognized for their outstanding efforts in reducing aggressive driving crashes.
PennDOT spokeswoman Pam Kane says Aggressive-driving crashes on roadways targeted by the enforcement decreased 4-percent in 2010.
The next enforcement wave, which targets aggressive-driving behaviors such as speeding, tailgating and running red lights – is planned for July 9th through August 16th.
