A spokesperson for the American Red Cross says all blood types are currently needed, but especially A negative, B negative and O negative. The organizations blood supply has now reached what officials say are emergency levels.
More than 17,000 pints of blood are needed in order to meet demand at the more than 3,000 hospitals the organizations accommodate. If you would like to donate, you can contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-Red-Cross to set up an appointment.
