PennDOT: Parking Along I-99 for Fireworks is Illegal
PennDOT and the Pennsylvania State Police are reminding motorists that parking or standing along Interstate 99 to watch Independence Day fireworks is illegal.
PennDOT spokeswoman Pam Kane says it creates a dangerous situation when motorists are slowing to pull onto the shoulder or are attempting to return to high-speed traffic.
Officials will be paying close attention to the traffic situation in and around DelGrosso’s Amusement Park on July 4th. That’s because one of the two main arteries away from the park is closed to traffic because of bridge work.
Kane says state and local police will also be on the lookout for impaired drivers. Several roving patrols and DUI checkpoints are planned.
