PennDOT, PA DUI Association Urge Sober 4th of July Festivities
PennDOT and the Pennsylvania DUI Association are pushing for a safe and sober Fourth of July holiday.
That was association spokesperson Cathy Tress speaking at a gathering of officials at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park Monday as part of an educational effort to make people aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. Visitors were able to pledge to stay sober by signing a car involved in a DUI crash.
There were more than 146 alcohol-related crashes in Pennsylvania last year – resulting in six deaths.
This year, the Blair County DUI Taskforce and the State Police will be active conducting a series of roving patrols and DUI checkpoints.
