Travelers on Old Route 22 in Blair County will soon get a smoother and safer ride as resurfacing work begins today.
The $1.3 million project will mill and resurface about 4-1/2 miles of roadway from the Duncansville intersection to the Muleshoe underpass. Base repairs, shoulder upgrades and new pavement markings are all part of this project.
Motorists are being asked to be patient while traveling through the work zone and expect delays during daylight construction hours. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers.
Work on this project is weather dependant and is expected to be completed by early August.
