Woman Accused Of Smoking Blizzard On Maternity Ward
An Altoona woman allegedly high on Blizzard while recovering from child birth in the Altoona Regional maternity ward is faces charges.
On June 17th 31 year old Carla Murphy, of 1902 3rd Avenue. was in day two of recovery after the birth of her baby when hospital police had to intervene when a naked Murphy, assaulted nurses.
Evidence indicating an illegal substance was found among Murphy's possessions.
A subsequent search of Murphy’s home turned up drug paraphernalia, including needles, aluminum foil, Blizzard containers and a broken glass bottle with brown residue on it.
Murphy has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkeness and harassment as well as several drug counts including felony possession of a designer drug.
