Child Abductor Sent to Jail for 40 Years, Named a Predator
The man who abducted a 6-year-old girl from her grandmother’s Tyrone home last August will effectively spend the rest of his life in prison.
Judge Daniel Milliron sent 58-year-old Dennis Stehley to state prison for at least the next 40 years. A review panel also determined that Stehley is a sexually violent predator and will have to register as a Megan’s Law offender.
Stehley raped and beat the girl before police caught up with him near the Kettle Reservoir in Logan Township. Deputy District Attorney Jackie Bernard says Stehley will never be able to hurt anyone again.
The victim’s mother told the court that her little girl will now be able to move on with her life knowing her attacker is behind bars.
Stehley won’t be eligible for parole until he’s 98-years-old.
