Logan Township Supervisors welcomed veteran Blair County police officer Alex Vasquez to the municipality’s force Thursday night. Vasquez has worked as an officer in Allegheny Township – a position he’s held since being furloughed two years ago by the Blair Township Supervisors because of budget cuts.
 
Chief Ron Heller says Vazquez is an experienced officer who is respected by his peers.
 

 
Vasquez was one of the top scoring candidates when the township began recruiting earlier this year. Logan Township has hired three officers in the past two months – and adding Vasquez brings Heller’s department back to its full complement.
