Funeral plans are now in place for a Logan Township Police officer who lost his battle with cancer.
Friends, family and colleagues of Bill Burrows will be received today from 2:00PM to 7:00PM at the Gilden Barton Funeral Home on 9th Avenue in Altoona. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
The 58-year-old Burrows served Logan Township as an officer for more than 22 years. He was diagnosed with multiple myleloma in 2010 after breaking his collar bone. Burrows was a former Marine who was well-liked and respected among his colleagues and peers.
He also served the township as a volunteer firefighter.
