The Altoona Metro Transit Authority is getting some help from Uncle Sam to make much-needed bus repairs.
 
The $200,000 grant for AMTRAN is coming through the office of 9^th District Congressman Bill Shuster. Shuster secured the money through the Federal Transit Administration.
 
The money will be used to refurbish three of the authority’s busses and to replace their old-engines with re-manufactured diesel engines that will prolong the life of the busses.
