AMTRAN Getting $200,000 to Refurbish Busses

The Altoona Metro Transit Authority is getting some help from Uncle Sam to make much-needed bus repairs.

The $200,000 grant for AMTRAN is coming through the office of 9th District Congressman Bill Shuster. Shuster secured the money through the Federal Transit Administration.

The money will be used to refurbish three of the authority’s busses and to replace their old-engines with re-manufactured diesel engines that will prolong the life of the busses.
