Early Morning Fire Burns Down Home In New Enterprise

A fire overnight destroyed a Northern Bedford County home.

The call came into the Bedford County 911 center just before 3AM reporting flames at 404 Chestnut Street in New Enterprise.

It’s not clear if anyone was home at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time.  The 911 center tells WRTA News that no one was transported to the hospital.

More than a half dozen fire companies were called out to fight the blaze and PennDot is on scene because some of the structure collapsed on to Hershberger Road.

The State Fire marshal has been called in to investigate.

We’ll have more on this fire as information becomes available.
