State Police say a Texas truck driver damaged a railroad crossing and fled the scene.
 
The incident happened July 17^th at the Fostoria Crossing in Antis Township. Troopers say Jorge Gonzalez of Cortulla struck the crossing gate at Norfolk Southern’s Fostoria intersection – damaging a control arm. Gonzalez was attempting to bypass a bridge construction project on Old Route 220.
 
He fled the scene and was apprehended by an off-duty Bellwood Police officer. Troopers say Gonzalez put the public at risk for not reporting the accident. Damage to the crossing is estimated at $8,000.
