Former PSU Football Players to Appeal NCAA Sanctions

A group of former Penn State football players are appealing the NCAA sanctions against the university.

Michael Robinson, Anwar Phillips, Josh Gaines, Shamar Finney, Anthony Adams and Justin Kurpeikis are among those behind the effort. They say the NCAA didn't follow its own policies and procedures -- and denied the due process right of those affected by the outcome to be heard.

The group says in their letter to the NCAA that they're acting on behalf of all players and coaches who were part of the football program between 1998 and 2011. The NCAA vacated 112 Nittany Lion wins during that time period.

The group also takes aim at the Freeh Report saying it’s flawed – and that the NCAA should have conducted its own independent investigation.
