Some Hollidaysburg School District board members say they want to know if their food service program is still in the black.
The issue surfaced at last night’s meeting. Board president Ron Yoder says the district not only serves its own students – it also contracts with other outside agencies to provide meals, and with wholesale food prices rising, Yoder is concerned about the district losing money.
Yoder says the district thus far has done a good job keeping its cafeteria personnel costs low.
Board members voted last month to raise the price of student lunches by 10-cents for the upcoming school year.
