After being closed for nearly 10 weeks, the Juniata 8^th Street Bridge will reopen to traffic this afternoon.
 
Engineer Shawn Ritchey says the construction work is completed ahead of schedule.
 

 
Officials were initially worried the construction would not be completed in time for the start of school.
 
Ritchey says there will be some ancillary work that will continue under the bridge structure but that will not affect any traffic.
