Penn State trustees will meet this weekend to consider whether to ratify the school's consent decree with the NCAA that imposed penalties for how the university handled the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal.
Board chairwoman Karen Peetz sent a “surprise” email Thursday to fellow trustees saying there was confusion about how Penn State accepted the sanctions and whether it was the "best course" for Penn State.
A notice was later posted on Penn State's website says the Sunday afternoon telephone conference will be broadcast live online. The NCAA on July 23rd barred the school from post-season play for four years, fined it $60-million and invalidated 112 of the football team's wins.
The school acquiesced to the penalties, but several trustees, alumni and others have reacted angrily and are waging their own responses to the sanctions.
