Shells Explode When Ammo Trailer Burns On I-80

Officials say Interstate 80 is open again in central Pennsylvania after a trailer hauling gunpowder and ammunition caught fire, causing some of the shells to explode.

Fire officials say it took a couple hours for lanes to be completely cleared after the fire Sunday night in Boggs Township, near State College.

Firefighters say three people in the pickup pulling the trailer suffered minor injuries.
