Blair Hiring Firm to Analyze Storm Runoff Concerns

The Blair County Commissioners are hiring a local engineering firm to analyze and deal with new storm runoff concerns put in place by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Keller Engineering of Hollidaysburg will review several properties owned by the county and put together a new plan so that the county can get its storm water permit renewed. Commissioner Terry Tomassetti says the process could be long – and eventually costly.

Managers of the project say the focus areas will include the area near the Blair County Ballpark, Valley View Nursing Home and other properties where the county has buildings next to streams and waterways.
