The 10th Avenue extension will soon become one-way.
Altoona City Council voted 5-2 Wednesday to support the chance because the street is narrow and hilly. Officials say speeding has also been an ongoing issue. The change affects the roadway between 19th Street and 24th Street.
Councilman Michael Haire voted against the change citing additional safety concerns.
Haire and Butterbaugh also supported adding an additional stop sign. Council says that can be revisited at a later date.
