The 10^th Avenue extension will soon become one-way.
 
Altoona City Council voted 5-2 Wednesday to support the chance because the street is narrow and hilly. Officials say speeding has also been an ongoing issue. The change affects the roadway between 19^th Street and 24^th Street.
 
Councilman Michael Haire voted against the change citing additional safety concerns.
 

 
Haire and Butterbaugh also supported adding an additional stop sign. Council says that can be revisited at a later date.
