A local police officer wants to construct an indoor shooting range in Logan Township – but he’ll likely need the support of his neighbors to make the project possible.
Jesse Moyer told the board Wednesday that the range would be located on 15 acres off Dartmouth Lane. The property, which is currently zoned residential, would need to be re-zoned to commercial or industrial use.
The board told Moyer that some residents in Camelot Woods would need to agree to the move. Supervisor Dave Rhoa suggested he start by meeting with them.
Township law doesn’t allow the supervisors to “spot zone” the property. Moyer told the board that noise should not be a major issue.
