An Emergency Preparedness Drill will take place starting at 9:00 this morning at the Altoona Area High School.
Jack Reilly, Director and Chief of Altoona Area School District Police Services, explains why this exercise is taking place.
Reilly wants the public to be ready for traffic congestion on 6th and 7th Avenues from 14th Street to 17th Street as emergency vehicles respond to the scene, and most important of all, don’t be alarmed by the commotion.
More than 200 people will be involved in the drill which has been in the planning stage for six months.
