Wide Receiver Kersey Leaves Nittany Lions

Troubles continue to mount for the Penn State Nittany Lion football team.

Junior wide receiver Shawney Kersey has left the team.

The 6-foot-1, 197-pound Kersey was third on the squad with six catches for 44 yards and started both of Penn State's first two games.

Kersey was Penn State's most experienced returning receiver heading into the season, even though he only had six career catches.

He had left the team and come back on more than one occasion earlier in his career for personal reasons.
