City Ok With Tax Collector Transition

The City of Altoona has received notification from H. A. Berkheimer, the company that will take over all the contracts currently held by Central Tax Bureau of Pennsylvania, or “Centax”, that they will transition into the collection of those taxes by October the 1st.

On the heels of the Bellwood-Antis School district filing a civil complaint against Centax, City Finance Director Omar Strohm was asked at last night’s council meeting if Altoona has any issues with the tax collector.

Strohm says that the city may not know of any major glitches concerning the transfer of funds until after the transition.

The city has had issues in the past with the way Centax operated and officials think the transition to Berkeimer may be an upgrade.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
