Former Altoona Nursing Home Operator, Two Employees Facing Charges of Neglect

The woman who owned and operated a nursing home in Altoona at which a resident was allegedly poorly cared for is facing neglect charges.

Sherry Jo Warner, of 2030 Riggles Gap Road, ran Warner's Home for the Aged at 1100 14th Avenue until her license was revoked late last year.

Two direct care aides at the home, Diana Frye, of 1104 14th Avenue and Marjory Koch, of 211 7th Avenue are also facing charges.

80 year old Kenneth McGuire, a resident at the home for five years, died November 17, 2011, 12 days after he was admitted to Altoona Regional with so many unattended sores that a doctor told a grand jury that it was the worst case he had seen in 30 years.

Warner, Frye and Koch are all charged with one count of neglect of a care-dependent person, a misdemeanor. All three women have preliminary hearings scheduled for October 3rd.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
