Friends, family and colleagues said their final goodbyes to former Altoona Police Chief John Treese on Thursday
 
A funeral service for Treese was held Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Sixth Avenue in Altoona.
 
At the age of 73, Treese died Monday.  He served as Altoona’s Chief of Police from 1997 until his retirement in 2001.
 
Treese, who was also a veteran, was laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery with full military honors.
