There is finally some movement in Altoona's Act 47 Process.
Stevens & Lee, the financial distress consultant working on the Altoona situation will file a recovery plan November 13. That will be followed by a public hearing November 28. The schedule would then call for adoption by city leaders December 19.
It will be tight but that will hopefully give the city enough leeway to have a budget in place on time.
The schedule set by Stevens & Lee includes introducing tax ordinances November 27 and then adopting them December 19.
Next week’s non-mandated public meeting is still on. City residents will have a chance to address the consultant team at that meeting to be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 at the Devorris Downtown Center.
