Local Pain Clinic Linked to Meningitis Investigation

Pennsylvania health officials say a Blair County pain clinic dispensed steroid shots linked to an outbreak of fungal meningitis that has killed at least five people and sickened 35 in six other states.

Allegheny Pain Management in Altoona as well as South Hills Pain and Rehab Associates with locations in Jefferson Hills, Bethel Park, Monessen and Brentwood dispensed the steroids linked to the meningitis outbreak that were produced by a compounding pharmacy in Massachusetts and shipped to 23 states. The company recalled the medication last week.

Health officials say there have been no reports of death or illness in Pennsylvania so far. But they are working with the clinics to contact patients who received the medication.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
