Pennsylvania’s Auditor General is calling upon the state General Assembly to crack down on tattoo parlors.
Jack Wagner says he recently sent a letter to Health Department Acting Secretary Michael Wolf and state legislators urging them to consider legislation that would require tattoo parlors to be licensed and regulated by the Pennsylvania Health Department.
He says the measure should also set forth minimum training requirements for tattoo artists.
Wagner says the state currently has no regulations or guidelines in place for the reported 750 tattoo parlors across the state.
