Commissioners Consider Plans to Sell County Owned Nursing Home

The Blair County Commissioners are considering selling Valley View Home.

Commissioner Diane Meling says the county owned nursing home has been “operating at a break even position for the past several years.” She says “previously, the county’s general fund had been subsidizing the operation.

Prior to Tuesday’s meeting, all three commissioners met with staff and union representatives of the home to tell them about the possible sale.

Meling says if plans to sell the facility continue to move forward the commissioners plan to market the home to a firm that would continue the nursing home operation.”

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
