Sandusky Moved to State Prison Facility

Jerry Sandusky is now a state prison inmate.

The 68-year-old was transferred from the Centre County jail to the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, just outside Harrisburg, on Tuesday.

Sandusky is expected to undergo mental and physical testing and evaluation before being assigned a security risk level and being transferred to one of the state’s many facilities.

The former Penn State assistant coach was convicted of child molestation in June and is serving 30 to 60 years for the sexual abuse of 10 boys over a 15 year period of time.
Last week, attorneys filed a 31-page appeal citing the need for a new trial due to the prosecutions lack of evidence, numerous statute of limitations violations, and a lack of time for defense attorneys to prepare for the case.
