Commissioners Approve Valley View Real Estate Agreement

Blair County Commissioners are moving forward with plans to sell Valley View Nursing Home.

Commissioners approved a real estate representative agreement Tuesday which sets a base value for the facility at $13.5 million.
Commissioners received approval of the draft listing agreement between the county’s attorney and the broker, Marcus and Millchap, last week.

Healthcare workers and concerned community members recently presented commissioners with a petition with thousands of signatures urging them to save the home.

Commissioners say the county owned facility has been operating at a break even position for the past several years and remain concerned about the facility’s financial future.
