Power outages remain a problem locally in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
As of late in the day Wednesday, about 900 Penelec and Valley Rural Electric customers were still without electricity in Blair County.
Power was expected to be restored overnight to most of the effected customers in the county.
Altoona was hardest hit by outages where Penelec officials say about 560 customers were still looking to get power restored as of late Wednesday. Around 180 customers were still without electricity in Antis Township.
The American Red Cross emergency shelter at the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department remains open.
