It looks as though a Hollidaysburg elementary school slated to be closed down at the end of the current school year will turn out to be an asset for the district.
It’s being reported that a buyer has been lined up for the Allegheny No. 1 Elementary School building.
The buyer of the building would turn the facility into apartments which would put the property back on the tax rolls.
In May of this year the Hollidaysburg Area School District Board of directors voted to close Allegheny No. 1 after learning that the building was in need of $3 to $5 million in renovations in order to pass building codes.
