Forum Reviewing PSU's Scandal Response Held Over Weekend
On Saturday at Pittsburgh’s Harris Theatre an event titled “Upon Further Review: Penn State One Year Later” was held.
The program was designed to have an open discussion analyzing the Louis Freeh report, NCAA sanctions against Penn State and the late former head football coach Joe Paterno. It took place a year after the firings of Paterno and former Penn State President Graham Spanier in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal last November. Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sex abuse in June.
About 75 people, many wearing Penn State apparel, packed the small theater in the Cultural District of Pittsburgh for the program, which included a clip from filmmaker John Ziegler’s documentary “The Framing of Joe Paterno,” presentations challenging the Freeh report and Sandusky grand jury presentment, and a panel discussion, including a question-and-answer portion.
