City Leaders, Departments Review Recovery Plan

Altoona city leaders now have the Act 47 recovery plan to mull over.

City Councilman Dave Butterbaugh says the plan was not made available to the city until around 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, just a short time before the 6 o’clock meeting with representatives of Stevens & Lee, the team that put the plan together.

Butterbaugh says the plan has earned income tax rates rising .25 percent for residents and 0.15 percent for non-residents.

Butterbaugh says it’s going to take some time for everyone to read through the plan and fully understand it.

A mandated public hearing on the recovery plan is set for the 28th.
