The Hollidaysburg Area school board on Wednesday unanimously approved the sale the former school building Allegheny No. 1.
Pending court approval, Allegheny No. 1 LLC, a partnership of Drew Swope and two brothers of the DeGol Organization will purchase the building for $610,000.
The group is planning to start converting the building to assisted-living apartments in the spring.
Allegheny No. 1 was closed down at the end of the 2011-12 school year because of renovation costs and declined enrollment.
