Draft Budget Created For Distressed Altoona

On the heels of Tuesday’s release of the ACT 47 Recovery Plan for Altoona, a balanced draft budget has been created.

The key to the proposed 2013 budget is City Council’s approval of the recovery plan that includes a 0.25 percent hike in earned income tax for residents of the city and a 0.15 increase for non-residents. That provision would account for an additional $2.1 million.

The draft budget also includes a 10 percent increase in fee and license charges and other revenues created by initiatives laid out in the recovery plan.

A public hearing on the ACT 47 Recovery Plan will be held Wednesday November 28th at the Penn State Downtown Devorris Center. City Council will vote on the plan December 19th.

I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation). Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
