There will be an Altoona City Council meeting tonight at council chambers.
Included in this meeting will be a budget review in conjunction with the proposed ACT 47 Plan
City leaders are also expected to authorize a tax collection agreement with Berkheimer Associates. Centax, the company that had been under contract with the city to collect mercantile, property and business privilege taxes, closed up shop early this year and sold it’s contracts to Bangor-based Berkheimer.
Tonight’s session of council is part of the revamped meeting schedule made necessary by the ACT 47 process. The Novenber 14 meeting had been cancelled and Wednesday, December 12th has been cancelled.
After tonight’s meeting City Council will conduct public meetings on Tuesday, November 27th and Wednesday, December 19th.
