City Council Introduces Ordinances Ahead Of ACT 47 Hearing



Altoona City Council members met for the second night in a row Tuesday and introduced a series of ordinances connected to the ACT 47 recovery plan.
 
Council introduced ordinances approving the Municipalities Financial Recovery Act Recovery Plan, a first reading of the 2013 budget, an earned income tax increase of 0.25 percentage points for residents and 0.15 percentage points for nonresidents, and a debt-service millage hike of 1.07 mills.
 
There will be a public hearing tonight in Altoona concerning the recovery plan.  Councilman Dave Butterbaugh is encourages city residents to attend tonight event.

 
 

 
December 19th is the date Council will have to vote on the plan.
 
This evening’s public hearing will get underway at 5:30 at the Downtown Devorris Center.
