City Departments Awarded Funding

The Bavarian Aid Society has made a monetary contribution to the Altoona Police and Fire Departments.

During press conference Thursday the City of Altoona acknowledged the Society for their generous contribution to the Altoona Police Department, Altoona Fire Department and AMED.

Each entity received $7500 from the Society.

The Police Department is expected to use their funds to purchase new digital portable radios and the Fire Department is to use their money to purchase new turnout gear.

AMED is using their contribution to help offset the costs of replacing cardiac monitors.
