That’s not good news for some folks who don’t want to see the facility change hands. Local union members and many area residents don’t want to see the home go to a private owner.
At Monday’s rally for jobs in Altoona, Bob Kutz, President of the Central Labor Council of Blair and Bedford Counties told WRTA News how he felt about the issue.
Tomassetti says it’s important to remember that the reason the commissioners are looking to sell the property is projected costs associated with the future operation of the home.
The Commissioners hope to sell the facility and the land its on for 13.5 million dollars. A decision should be made at next Tuesday’s meeting.
