A Penn State graduate student escaped serious injury when she was attacked by a man with a knife Wednesday afternoon.
The attack occurred on a recreation trail in the Overlook Heights area off North Atherton Street in Ferguson Township.
The 40 year old female victim, whom police would not identify, fought off her attacker by biting his hand. She was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she was treated for an apparent cut wound to the neck and later released.
Police have been able to collect some evidence from the crime scene but so far no arrest has been made.
