Altoona Elementary Receives Blue Ribbon Award



On Thursday, a celebration was held for students, staff, parents, and community members at Juniata Elementary.
 
The school was one of five Pennsylvania elementary schools to receive the 2012 National Blue Ribbon award.
 
The criteria for the award is based on making the most progress in improving student performance on the PSSA test for both Reading and Math while having at least 40% of students coming from disadvantaged backgrounds.
