Facebook Post Leads to Arrests In Local Stolen Vehicle Investigation
Two city women were arrested this week in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation.
19 year old Hillary Ott, of 2310 6th Avenue, and 19 year old Fatimah Guthrie, of 1510 12th Street are facing charges after a local resident saw a post on the Altoona Police Department facebook page earlier this month about the theft. That person saw the stolen 2005 Mazda MPV being driven by Guthrie. The witness then followed the vehicle to a building on the 2200 block of 6th Avenue.
The witness took a picture of Ott and Guthrie walking away from the stolen vehicle and took it to the police where it was posted on the APD Facebook page in hopes of getting an ID of the women.
A short time later the police the names of Ott and Guthrie and the two women were arrested Wednesday. Both are charged with Criminal Conspiracy and Receiving Stolen Property.
I would've just posted this on Facebook, but Facebook doesn't allow you to post GIFs (like this little animation).
Maybe the $1.1 BILLION price tag isn't so crazy?
