The man who assaulted a local school district school board member earlier this year has been sentenced.
Byron Lasser, former businessman and substitute teacher learned Tuesday that he will serve a year’s probation for his attack on Hollidaysburg Area School Board Vice President Darlee Sill.
As part of a plea agreement, the 66 year old Lasser pleaded no-contest to a simple assault charge for the incident that happened following the graduation ceremony in Hollidaysburg in June.
Because Sill was a public official performing a duty Hollidaysburg police had charged Lasser with aggravated assault for grabbing Sill following the graduation.
Lasser, who has undergone anger management counseling, was also ordered to pay costs and fines.
