Altoona 2013 Budget Passed

The 2013 budget for the city of Altoona was passed last night.

The city will start the year with a fund balance of about three quarters of a million dollars and end the year with $1.5 million.

Mayor Bill Schirf points out that the ACT 47 recovery plan isn’t just a one year fix.

One of the key components of the plan calls for an increase in the earned income tax rate for residents by 0.25 percentage points and nonresidents by 0.15 percentage points.
